The core function of the joint module test bench is to simulate real working conditions and conduct quantitative evaluations. The main test contents include:


1. Performance testing

Torque/speed characteristics: Test the output torque of the module at different speeds, draw the classic torque-speed curve, and verify its peak torque and rated torque.

Positioning accuracy and repeat positioning accuracy: Evaluating the module's ability to control position is the key to precise robot operation. Backlash: It measures the tiny clearance between the input shaft and the output shaft, which is crucial for the absolute accuracy of the robot.

Efficiency: It measures the energy conversion efficiency of the entire module (input electrical power vs. output mechanical power), which is related to the energy consumption and heat generation of the robot.

Rigidity/Stiffness: The ability of the test module to resist deformation when under load.


2. Durability and life testing

Accelerated life testing: Let the module operate for a long time and at a high frequency under conditions exceeding the rated working conditions, simulating several years of usage wear and tear, and evaluating its life and reliability in a short period of time.

Fatigue testing: Simulating harsh working conditions such as frequent starts and stops, forward and reverse rotations, etc., to examine the fatigue strength of components (especially reducers).

Temperature rise test: Monitor the temperature changes of the motor and driver during long-term operation and evaluate the heat dissipation design.


3. Dynamic characteristic testing

Response characteristics: Test the module's response speed to control instructions, such as step response and frequency response, and evaluate its bandwidth.

Stability: Check whether the module will experience oscillation or instability under the control loop.


4. Functional and safety testing

Brake performance test: Test the holding torque and response time of the brake after power-off.

Overload/overcurrent protection test: Verify whether the protection function of the driver is normal.

Communication function test: Check whether the communication with the upper computer (such as the robot controller) (such as EtherCAT, CANopen) is stable and free of packet loss. The testing process can be manually or automatically loaded. The test results can be generated into customized test reports, curve charts, etc. The process data can be generated into Word, Excel or PDF format files, and the data can be saved, edited, printed, etc. The interface of the test system is simple and clean, and it is convenient to upgrade and maintain.
